"Earlier we used to have seven flights a day, which came down to five after one private airline shut its operations from Aurangabad airport," he said.

On the 12.5% increase in cargo movement, Yeole said facilitating the Common User Terminal for domestic cargo at Aurangabad airport has reflected in the rise.

The Aurangabad airport has domestic connectivity to Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad. Haj Flight also takes off from the airport every year. Besides Air India, a few private airlines operate flights from city airport. A group of private air charters has been engaged in cargo movement.
