Talking to media persons at the State BJP headquarters here on Friday, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation added that a revolution is yet to come in the field of regional connectivity as works are already on to promote intra-State connectivity in all the States.
"Two more flight services of Indigo Airlines will be started from this July for Kolkata and Bengaluru making a total count of flights from Ranchi to 21 which was only 9 two years back," said Sinha. Efforts are also being made to connect Raipur and Bhubaneswar from Ranchi by starting two more flights from here, he added.
Sinha further said that works were being done on war footage to promote intra-state connectivity in all states, including Jharkhand.
"We are making all efforts to start flight services connecting Divisional Headquarters like Hazaribagh, Dumka, Palamu, Chaibasa and Ranchi for which process of constructing airports has already been started all over the State," said the Minister. Construction work of a new airport at Dhalbhumgarh in Jamshedpur will be completed by August this year while the work of Jamshedpur airport will take another 2-3 years to get completed, he added.
"Flight service from Dumka airport is likely to be started within 6-8 months while construction work is on for a new airport in Deoghar and Hazaribagh," said Sinha. Talks have already been completed with Air Deccan and Alliance Airways to start intra-state flight services of small aero planes having 19 or 42 seats, he added.
Sinha, who is also MP from Hazaribagh, further added that need of airports in Bokaro and Dhanbad was also being felt for which survey has already been completed to identify locations for the same.
