Belagavi: Private airline companies are taking keen interest in connecting Belagavi with more cities across the country with upgradation of the airport drawing to a close.
On Wednesday, SpiceJet decided to introduce a flight between Belagavi and Hyderabad on a daily basis from March 25. The flight will take one hour and 10 minutes to travel from Belagavi to Hyderabad and almost the same time back to Belagavi from Hyderabad.
According to Airport Director Rajendra Kumar Maurya, SpiceJet is keen to have the new flight from March 25 but the flight schedule is not finalised yet. Sources said, the flight will take off from Hyderabad at 10.15 am and land in Belagavi at 11.25 am. It will start from Belagavi at 11.45 am and land in Hyderabad at 12.55 pm.
In the next few months, more airlines are expected to connect more cities to Belagavi based on the rising demand from people of the region. Already, regular flights have been introduced between Belagavi-Chennai, Belagavi-Mumbai and Belagavi-Bengaluru even before the airport upgradation began.
