New Delhi: Months ahead of launching an Indian subsidiary with the Tata Group, Malaysian low cost carrier AirAsia has decided to further shrink its international footprint here. Its Thai subsidiary will stop Kolkata-Bangkok flight from next March. In the past two years, the Low Cost Carrier (LCC) has pulled out of Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad airports. However, parent airline AirAsia Bhd will continue its daily Kolkata-Kuala Lumpur flights.
"Effective January-February 2014, Thai AirAsia will alter the frequency of its Kolkata-Bangkok flights from daily direct flights to four flights per week. Thai AirAsia will no longer operate direct flights between Kolkata-Bangkok, starting from March 1, 2014, onward," the airline said.
