IndiGo air hostesses 'molested by five passengers after refusing to serve them alcohol'

New Delhi: Five passengers aged between 24- 26 years allegedly molested four IndiGo air hostesses on Saturday evening.
The airport wing of the Delhi Police has registered a case under the Indian Penal Code Section 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and Section 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman).
"The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) received information from Air Traffic Controller (ATC) about five youth molesting and misbehaving with four air hostesses on-board. The CISF immediately flashed a message and informed domestic airport police station staff around 4.30pm on Saturday.
"When the flight coming from Vadodara to Delhi landed at Terminal-1D, the CISF and the Delhi Police detained the five accused and took them to the police station," a senior CISF official said.
According to a senior official posted at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI), four Indigo air hostesses complained that the five passengers passed sexual comments and molested them on the flight.

The incident took place when an accused asked an air hostess to provide him and his friends with liquor and non-vegetarian food. When the air hostess declined, saying that it is a low-cost domestic flight and that they didn't serve alcohol, the five accused allegedly started abusing the air hostess.
When three other air hostesses serving food to passengers tried to intervene and requested the five accused to sit on their seats, the accused allegedly abused and molested them.
The crew in charge informed the pilot, who further informed the ATC.
