Toppers fly high, literally

Hyderabad: Many of us would love to grab a birds-eye view of our city, however just a few of us actually get the rare opportunity. A lucky batch of 120 State toppers in the class X examination from lower economic backgrounds were given the chance as a reward for their academic distinction.
Organised by the Vandemataram Foundation, a registered community development organisation, the special session was held on Sunday morning. The students were taken on a flight and given a tour of the city by Flytech Aviation located at Gurramguda. The city view was followed by a personality development class. The toppers will also be felicitated at Ravindra Bharathi today for their achievements.
Anil Kumar, a member of the Vandemataram Foundations, says, “The main motive behind the event is to encourage the students. They are brilliant and need motivation to improve their confidence.”
Pointing out that despite the differences in their quality of education and life, he further added that these students achieved a distinction that they should be proud of and be encouraged to perform consistently in their higher education.
