Bangalore: A 19-year-old school dropout in Gujarat was arrested by the
Bangalore police on Tuesday in connection with a mail that was sent to
the Kempegowda International Airport Limited (KIAL) on July 21,
threatening the hijacking of an aircraft and signed by the Indian
Mujahideen and the Lashkar-e-Toiba.
The youth, who was tracked down by his mobile phone Internet protocol address, has been identified as Parbatji Takur of Bhildi village in Banaskanta district of Gujarat.
“Our team reached Gujarat and managed to arrest him with the help of the local police. The team is bringing him to Bangalore for further investigation,” ACP Alok Kumar said.
Bangalore police sources said the general manager of KIAL had received the threat mail on July 21 from the ID internalsecurityinteligence5@gmail.com.
KIAL general manager informed the international airport police and a case was registered. The Bangalore police sought the assistance of the cyber crime police to crack the case.
