A negligent act committed by a police officer while posted at Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) in the year 2013, resulted in his pay cut for one year. It has been alleged that due to the errant cop's negligence two Sri Lanka nationals were able to travel till Abu Dhabi on their bogus passports.
According to the police sources, in 2013, assistant police inspector Arun Bhosale (currently posted with west region control room), was posted at the CSIA while being with on deputation with Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau (SIB) which comes under the Bureau of Immigration.
"In the intervening night of 7th and 8th April 2013, while on a night duty at the immigration departure counter number 30, Bhosale cleared two Sri Lankan nationals who were carrying bogus Indian passports to leave for London via Abu Dhabi. Due to his carelessness, the two Sri Lankan nationals managed to illegally travel till Abu Dhabi," said a police officer.
