Mangaluru: Domestic air connectivity from this coastal town is all set
to get a further boost come August 21 with Air Pegasus, a regional
airline starting operations from Mangaluru International Airport (MIA)
to Bengaluru. Air Pegasus will become fourth airline after Jet Airways,
Spice Jet and Air India to operate flights to MIA. The city is presently
connected to Bengaluru and Mumbai through direct flights and Hyderabad,
Chennai and Ahmedabad through hop-on flights.
Air Pegasus flight OP102 will arrive from Bengaluru at 11.50am and flight OP 116 is scheduled to depart from MIA at 12.15pm. Ticket bookings have already started and the airline is scheduled to operate on an all days except on Tuesday with ATR 72-500 type aircrafts. Air Pegasus is already operating flights to southern cities, namely Bengaluru, Hubballi, Thiruvananthapuram, Madurai, and Kadapa and will add Chennai on August 20 and Mangaluru on August 21.
