Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh government has procured two aircraft, a 9-seater
airplane and a helicopter with similar seating capacity, at a cost of Rs
124 crore from US-based firms to bolster its ageing fleet.
While the Super King Air B-250 airplane, worth Rs 40 crore, landed in Delhi Tuesday and will be reaching Lucknow Thursday, the Bell 412 EPI helicopter, worth Rs 84 crore, will be delivered in October.
Principal secretary (Civil Aviation), Anita Singh; director, civil aviation, Devendra Swarup, a pilot Pankaj Singh and engineer Ajit Singh completed the prcurement exercise during a recent 12-day tour of the USA.
