Ahmedabad: In a big relief to frequent flyers, Air India is all set to start a flight on Bhavnagar-Mumbai route from April 21. The flight will operate four days a week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Air India's flight AI-9629 will take-off from Mumbai at 5.30pm and land at Bhavnagar at 6.45pm. In return, the flight AI-9630 will depart from Bhavnagar at 7.25pm and arrive at Mumbai at 8.30pm.
This is the first time that Air India will be operating a flight on this route.
The national carrier will deploy ATR-72 aircraft on the route which has maximum capacity of 70 passengers. The bookings for the flights in both the directions have begun.
"We carried out a feasibility survey at the Bhavnagar airport last week. According to our study, there is a sustainable demand and we believe that this route will generate traffic and revenue," added Air India official.
