Ahmedabad: With runway resurfacing at the city airport scheduled to start by the end of this week, Airports Authority of India (AAI) is taking all measures to help flyers have a hassle-free experience.
From increasing the number of counters to deploying more men during rush hours, AAI is gearing up for the yearlong renovation work, during which the flight operations will remain completely shut between 10am to 6pm.
According to a senior AAI official, since the runway will remain unavailable for eight hours each day from April 16 onwards, several flights have been bunched together during early morning and evening.
"The counters for issuing boarding passes in the domestic terminal have been increased to 30 from earlier 22. The staff's working hours have been rescheduled to handle the rush during morning and evening hours," said an AAI official.
