Hyderabad: The GMR group managed Delhi International Airport (P) Ltd has increased the solar power generating capacity at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi from the existing 2.14 MW to 7.84 MW.
This will enable the airport to be largely dependent on green energy as the power generated from the solar plant is expected to support the IGI airport operations.
The Delhi airport becomes the first airport in the world to be registered under the Clean Development Mechanism of United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
