Chennai police to create green corridor from airport to Perumbakkam to transport brain dead patient's heart

Chennai: The Chennai Traffic Police will create a green corridor from airport to Global Hospital in Perumbakkam to transport the heart of a brain dead patient in Bangalore.
The heart will be transplanted in a patient in the hospital.

"We were told the flight from Bangalore would reach around 1.30pm," said traffic inspector at the Chennai airport Perumal. "The ambulance is ready and our team is ready to leave as soon as the flight touches down," he added.
"We will take the Radial Road before taking the Medavakkam High Road," he added.
The traffic police said there are seven important junctions in the 18km ride from the airport to the hospital. "There will cops at every one of them and we expect a smooth journey," said the inspector.
