Air fares skyrocket, courtesy holiday season, Jat agitation

Chandigarh: The holiday season and the ongoing Jat agitation have led to sky rocketing of air fares from Chandigarh to Delhi and vice-versa. The steep increase has been witnessed for the past three to four days.

The current tickets, which were sold for around Rs 5,000, are now being sold between Rs 10,000 and Rs17, 000. Even on Monday, the situation remained the same as Air India tickets were available for Rs 9,100, Spice Jet Airways for Rs 10,300 and Vistara airline for Rs 17,291. The highest fare on Monday went up to Rs 17,500. Almost all flights to Delhi from the city remained occupied.
