Air India flight glitch leaves passengers stranded for nearly 22 hours

Around 200 passengers of an Air India flight were severely inconvenienced on Saturday after it developed glitches and failed to take off. What's worse, no airline official gave them any intimation for over 22 hours about when the flight would take off.

Dipti Patel, a city-based professional who was excited about a trip to Bangkok, was one of those affected. A passenger on the Air India flight, she was left onboard with the others, clueless about what would happen next since there was no concrete assurance from the airline staff. A dejected Patel later cancelled her booking and finally booked a Thai Airways flight for her destination, around 22 hours after reaching the airport.

"This has left a poor taste in the mouth about Air India. I am now concerned since even my return ticket is for an Air India flight," Patel said. "The airline management kept making empty promises every hour that the aircraft will take off soon," she added.

The passengers said they were told after boarding the aircraft that there is some technical glitch. They were asked to disembark around 5am after they protested about sitting inside the aircraft for too long a period of time, with no food and water.
