Tiruchi: An Air Asia flight bound for Kuala Lumpur made an emergency landing at the Tiruchi international airport on Monday after developing a snag mid-air.
The Airbus 320 aircraft with 157 passengers on board that left the Tiruchi airport at 5.26 p.m. returned a couple of hours later after hovering in the air space for more than one hour to make an emergency landing.
Airport sources told The Hindu there was imbalance of pressure inside the aircraft due to which it began to descend. The pilot informed the Chennai Air Traffic Control that the flight would be diverted and land in Chennai. However, moments later the pilot decided to head back to Tiruchi airport.
