In order to deal with the increasing rush of passengers, the Jaipur airport is going to have a separate terminal for arrivals and departures of domestic and international flights.
The officials of Airports Authority of India, Jaipur, are optimistic to dedicate this third terminal within three years. This building would have separate sections for arrivals and departures. This would reduce the crowd of terminal 2.
The new terminal building would be able to handle 5,000 passengers per hour.
Jaideep Singh Balhara, who joined as director, Airports Authority of India, on Tuesday discussed various upcoming facilities for the passengers and initiatives taken to ensure smooth landing of aircraft during foggy days.
Presently, Jaipur airport operates 47 flights, including six international ones, daily. At times, the hall and the security area get very congested. Union minister for civil aviation Ashok Gajapati Raju too had made an announcement in this regard in August.
