Indore: Air India on Tuesday announced to start two flights between Indore, Gwalior, Mumbai and Delhi. The move is in line of the government's 'Udan' scheme to provide connectivity to tier two towns with metro cities.
"Air India in its vigorous drive to provide connectivity to its passengers, is going to start two flights from Wednesday connecting the states of Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra," said officials from Air India, Bhopal.
According to officials, this would provide an unmatched linkage between these three states with two aircrafts.
These cities would be connected with two 70-seater aircrafts and will not only promote tourism amongst these three states, but will also provide convenient means of transport to students as well as professionals from different sectors. "Air India is adding flights to these states as number of passengers remains robust," said Vikas Shah, a manager with Air India, Bhopal.
